Call for sites
A Call for sites is an information gathering exercise which helps the Council to understand what land is potentially available for development within the area to meet local needs.
A formal Call for Sites Addendum was undertaken as part of the Initial Engagement Consultation (stage 1). All sites submitted as part of the consultation are currently under review. These sites will undergo a comprehensive evaluation by planning officers, who will consult with both internal and external stakeholders on various issues, including flood risk, heritage considerations, impacts on local transportation networks, education, infrastructure, and ecological factors.
Following the completion of the initial assessment, we will seek comments from the wider public during a future local plan consultation phase. This process will address both sites that are proposed for allocation within the local plan and those that may not be allocated, which could be considered for inclusion on a reserve list.
The Call for Sites process remains open. Sites submitted after the consultation period may not be included in the draft Local Plan. Any additional sites submitted may be evaluated at a later stage during the plan-making process.
Submit a site
The process of submitting a site can all be done online, including the plotting of the site boundary and the submission of details or supporting documents. Once the form is submitted successfully, you will receive an acknowledgement email to say that we have received the site submission, with a reference number for each site submitted.
Submit a siteThe council will consider all sites submitted and will decide which sites should be allocated for development in the Local Plan. If additional information is needed to help the site assessment process, you will be contacted using the details provided.
