3 March 2023 - The Inspectors have submitted supplementary initial questions in relation to Minerals and Waste.
23 January 2023 - The Council have written to the Inspectors providing an initial update on responding to the Inspectors' Initial Questions.
19 January 2023 - The Council request any recommended modifications to the submitted Local Plan, should they be necessary, in order to make the Plan sound and legally compliant.
15 December 2022 - The Inspectors have written to the Council outlining their Initial Queries.
11 November 2022 - North Lincolnshire Council submitted its draft Local Plan to the Secretary of State for an Examination in Public, under Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. Information about the examination process can be found here.
The Inspectors
Planning Inspectors Louise Crosby MA MRTPI, Elaine Worthington BA (Hons) MTP MUED MRTPI and Rachael Bust BSc (Hons) MA MSc LLM PhD MInstLM MCMI MIEnvSci MRTPI have been appointed to undertake an independent examination into the Plan's soundness and legal compliance, based on the criteria set out in paragraph 35 of the National Planning Policy Framework 2021 (the Framework) and associated regulations. Namely the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, the Localism Act 2011 and the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.
The Inspectors will take into account the representations submitted upon the Regulation 19 Draft Plan as far as they relate to soundness considerations. A number of informal debates will take place on the principal matters identified by the Inspectors these are termed Hearing Sessions.
At the end of the Examination, the Inspectors will prepare a report to the Council with precise recommendations, these recommendations may include modifications to the Plan, if the Council has requested these.
Guidance Notes will be prepared by the Inspectors to help people understand the process and will be available here in due course. The Planning Inspectorate have produced a Procedure Guide for Local Plan Examinations which provides detailed practical advice and a short guide aimed at those participating in a local plan examination for the first time.

The Programme Officer
The Programme Officer, Ian Kemp, will act as the contact for any person who has an interest in the Examination and as a liaison between the Inspector, Council and Representors.
He is an independent Officer of the Examination and works on behalf of the Inspector to organise and manage the administrative and procedural elements of the Examination process.
Any matters that anyone wishes to raise with the Inspector should be submitted via the Programme Officer.

Examination Documents
Documents submitted to the examination following submission will be available here in due course:
