4. Gateway 1 self-assessment
Gateway 1 is a self-assessment which demonstrates how we got ready to prepare the new Local Plan. Once we pass through gateway 1 the formal 30 month timeframe to publish the Local Plan begins.
Gateway 1 will include information on how we got ready to prepare the new Local Plan.
It will explain how we will use the timetable to update progression within the 30 month timeframe and the progress we have made with project management and governance.
It will also include how we will consult on the plan to get peoples views on what the plan could contain as well as how we propose to consult on the plan at other key stages alongside how we will provide information on progress with scoping and monitoring of the plan.
Finally, it will include the progress we have made for a Strategic Environmental Assessment. This process will consider how community, national and international environmental protection objectives and any other environmental challenges are considered in the plan. It will help us to predict significant environmental effects and develop ways of preventing, reducing and offsetting these.
