Notice of intention to prepare a Local Plan and the new Local Plan Timetable give advance notice to communities and stakeholders, explaining when and how they can take part in plan-making under the new system.
Regulation 19 Notice of intention to commence Local Plan preparation
North Lincolnshire Council Local Planning Authority hereby gives notice of its intention to commence preparation of the ‘North Lincolnshire Local Plan’.
This Notice is published in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026, which came into force on 25 March 2026, and marks the start of the formal Local Plan preparation process under the Government’s new plan‑making system.
The Council intends the North Lincolnshire Local Plan to incorporate all relevant planning issues for the area, including housing, economy, environment, minerals and waste.
The North Lincolnshire Local Plan will cover the administrative area of North Lincolnshire Council (ONS Code: E06000013). A map of the plan area is provided below.
This notice, alongside the Local Plan timetable, has been published on the Council’s website at localplan.northlincs.gov.uk and a hard copy is available for inspection at the Council’s main office during normal office hours at:

The Council expects to start the 30-month plan preparation process on Monday 30th November 2026.
